They have rejuvenated and modernised the label’s image, helping to redesign its historic building in the heart of Milan, near the famous La Scala opera house, which houses the brand’s headquarters and showroom, as well as its flagship shop, a restaurant and a café.
Positioned in the accessible luxury segment, the Italian house saw its situation get worse at the beginning of the year, forcing it to file for the Italian equivalent of a safeguard procedure. This procedure, known as “crisis recovery”, allows companies in difficulty to preserve their operational capacity by calling on an external expert to reorganise the company and negotiate a debt rescheduling with creditors.
The aim is to rationalise and reorganise the company with a view to a possible sale. According to market rumours, three to five takeover candidates have already come forward.
