**Fashion is set to take a back seat to function as Brits plan to opt for comfort and sustainability in a post-pandemic world, according to research.**.

A study of 2,000 adults found 54 per cent are likely to prioritise comfort and practicality over style when buying clothes..

And nearly half (49 per cent) are likely to focus more on sustainability – buying clothes that are ethically made and have a lower impact on the environment..

The research, commissioned by eBay UK, found more than a third (35 per cent) will reduce the amount of money they spend on fashion in the coming year as a result of the pandemic and economic uncertainty..

And a fifth (22 per cent) said they will only buy clothes they need and try to buy less overall..
