Rodríguez, who succeeds Nuria de Miguel as head of the Madrid fashion event, also directs other events held at Ifema, such as Liber, Feriarte, Antik Passion Almoneda, Tecnova Piscinas, Expodental, Oral-Tech, ExpoÓptica and Expofranquicia.
“Ifema Madrid has recruited a person skilled in organising and managing fashion events to join the management team of the widely recognized event, MBFW Madrid, and to assume and strengthen the strategic objectives related to internationalisation, professionalisation and digitisation that the event has defined,” the institution explained in a statement.
The first edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid to be led by Rodríguez will be held in 2023 from February 15 to 19 at Ifema’s Pavilion 14.1, as well as at other locations in the capital city. This upcoming edition is to be held during its usual month, in Feburary. After being held just a month before the outbreak of the pandemic and receiving more than 55,000 people, these past two years, it had moved its dates to April and March.
In its most recent 76th edition, the event once again reached its full capacity after the pandemic and brought together 41 designers, including established companies and other emerging companies that participated in competitions such as Allianz Ego and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent, as well as designers that presented their collections in “seasonless” fashion shows.
