Dick’s Sporting Goods names new EVP, stores
Dick’s Sporting Goods announced that Ray Sliva will join the company as executive vice president, stores, effective January 3, 2023.
Sliva joins Dick’s Sporting Goods from Best Buy, where he most recently served as Best Buy’s chief people officer and was responsible for leading all employee engagement initiatives.
Prior to that, Sliva served as Best Buy’s president of retail, responsible for U.S. sales across all customer touchpoints, including in-home consultations, Best Buy for Business, digital sales, and nearly 1,000 brick and mortar locations.
In his role at the Pittsburgh-based sporting retailer, he will report to president and chief executive officer Lauren Hobart and serve as a key member of the company’s executive leadership team.
“Our stores are a critical touchpoint with our athletes,” said Hobart. “Ray’s retail experience, passion for people, culture and operations will be tremendous assets as we continue to elevate the athlete and teammate experience in our stores.”
The retailer serves athletes and outdoor enthusiasts in more than 850 Dick’s Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, Field & Stream and Public Lands stores, online, and through the Dick’s mobile app.
Last month, Dick’s Sporting Goods also appointed Chad Kessler as EVP of vertical brands, its private label business.
