German fashion brand Closed
The brand has landed at Platform, one of the most creative shopping centers in Los Angeles, the restaurant and boutique complex invented by David Fishbein and Joseph Miller, the founders of Runyon Group, a full-service real estate company, founded in 2016. A concept that brings together emerging fashion brands and multi-brands such as The Optimist, Teller, Monocle, concept-store as Broome St General Store, and sustainable brands as Reformation
“L.A. is where Closed started its U.S. operations and it feels very natural to come back here for our first-ever retail footprint,” explained Til Nadler, managing partner at Closed. L.A. is one of the most relevant and inspiring places for young creatives and the fashion industry – especially when it comes to retail destinations such as Platform in Culver City, where our store will open this summer. We are very grateful for this opportunity and the trust and support we have received from our partners at Runyon Group.”
The store design effortlessly combines its sunny Californian surroundings with Closed’s European roots, immediately welcoming each visitor with a feeling of being on vacation. The light-filled space features fresh yellow tones, round shapes, selected objects, and striped textiles reminiscent of beach loungers.
On the walls, large-format photographs taken at iconic Italian vacation spots bring dolce vita-vibes. The store offers over 1000 square feet of retail space featuring denim handmade in Italy, ready-to-wear, accessories, and lifestyle products.
Closed announced that the store will also organize special events around personalization workshops and customer experiences inspired by the brand’s retail stores throughout Europe.
Three years after launching its U.S. e-shop, the German brand is taking the next step in its deployment. “We feel this is the next step to further validate what the brand has built with our partners’ support over the past ten years,” said Nadler.
Closed is a family business that stands for pure quality, effortless looks and denim handmade in Italy since 1978. Since its inception, Closed has opened about 50 freestanding stores across Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland, and, now, for the first time in the US.
